INTERNSHIP COURSE The Journal internship course is a 3-credit course offered twice yearly at the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law, which uniquely offers law review training in the context of specialized law and technology research. The internship class combines three components: exposure to law and technology scholarship, advanced legal research and methodology, and an intensive introduction to law review editing and legal publication. The advanced legal research and methodology component of the course includes training on finding online sources of legal information, identifying authoritative and reliable legal information online, as well as conducting law and technology research in other jurisdictions such as the U.S. and EU. The class also critically examines issues relating to access to legal information and the role of the law journal. In addition to attending the weekly classes, interns work as Assistant Editors with the Journal. Assistant Editors are responsible for editing and all stages of preparing articles for publication in the Journal. Where editorial work has been satisfactorily completed, Assistant Editors are recognized on the masthead of the issue on which they have worked. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
